Ajay Patel was born on February 9, 1962, in Ahmedabad to a hardworking and respected couple, Shri HaribhaiPatel and Smt. Subhadraben Patel. A person with a helpful nature, Haribhai used to run an electrical shop and give rickshaws on rent to the needy. Subhadraben, apart from running the home, was socially inclined and used to work in an NGO. Her other interest was to teach poor children. The values of hard work, social welfare and importance to education and sports inculcated by his parents have made Mr. Ajay Patel what he is today.
Mr. Ajay Patel completed his schooling from Diwan Ballubhai high school, Ahmedabad, in 1978. Young Ajay was always inclined towards sports. He was a great swimmer and a champion rifle shooter. In fact, he was serving as a swimming coach at the prestigious Rajpath Club merely at the age of 18! He finished his BE (Civil) from LD Engineering college, Ahmedabad. Ajay Patel lives with his family of four. His wife, Smt. Devangna Patel has been the pillar of his life and has supported him in all the ventures he undertook. The Patels have seen the highs and lows of life together They have been blessed with two daughters and a son. The eldest daughter, Aneri, has graduated from the US and is currently working for a private company in Ahmedabad. Their second daughter, Anokhi, is a law graduate while the youngest of them all, their son Dev, is currently studying in Bengaluru. In his free time, Mr. Ajay Patel loves to spend time with his family, talking about various anecdotes of his life to his children.
Mr. Patel loves to read and watch movies, especially of his favorite actor, Amitabh Bachchan. He has traveledextensively in India and to countries like the USA, UK, France, Switzerland, Australia, Thailand, China and New Zealand.
